THE MISKATONIC INSTITUTE ANNOUNCES ENCORE CLASSES FOR SUMMER 2022

In what we hope will now be an annual tradition, The Miskatonic Institute will be releasing some of the most popular online classes on our Vimeo channel. For those who might have missed a class, or are just learning about our organization, this is the chance to spend some quality time with horror.

Available from July 1st – August 31st, you can watch this sampling from each branch, which includes the lecture and the q&a session.

From the London Branch you can learn more about what nightmares might have plagued your sleep as a child (or adult), brought on by Creepy Dolls, with Joana Rita Ramalho, and Daniel Sheppard takes a new perspective on the slasher film in Hyperpostmodern or Just Plain Camp? The New York Branch will re-present Leila Taylor’s extensive look at the haunted house film in The American Nightmare, while we go back underground with Leo Goldsmith and Subterranean Horror.  The Los Angeles Branch replays a 2020 favourite with Alexandra Heller-Nicholas’ discussion of The Mask in Horror Cinema, while also traveling back to Asia with Katarzyna Ancuta’s look at Thai Horror as an Extension of Thai Supernaturalism.

We’ll announce our fall semester in August. Thank you for your continued support!

All the classes are captioned, and viewing cost is US$9. Check our website for details and links. Once you have rented the video, you will have 72 hours to view it.
