Code of Conduct

The Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies is a welcoming and safe environment that values diversity and inclusivity. All instructors representing Miskatonic are expected to respect these values. Miskatonic reserves the right to cancel any lecture in consideration of this mandate.

In-Person vs Online Classes

As of September 2023, the US branches (LA and NYC) shifted from physical events to online, under the banner of our Online branch; the London branch classes are live and in-person. Our online classes will not be geoblocked so students from anywhere in the world can participate.

Branches are designated in the class/event titles as (London) or (Online). Please note that the classes at the London branch are live events that will not be filmed or available to view online. The online classes will first be broadcast live via Zoom and then made available for 7 days to be viewed by people unable to attend the livestream. We are looking at ways of making content more readily available beyond that via VOD.

Registration & Fees

Miskatonic typically offers classes on a semester calendar. The Autumn semester generally runs from September through December; the Spring semester usually runs from January through May. Our Spring 2026 registration period will open up in December 2025; this is also when the Spring classes will be announced.

Registration entails signing up and paying for either individual class tickets or a semester pass for one of our two branches.

Each Miskatonic location has its own pricing structure (see below). View our current schedule for ticket/pass links; if there are no classes listed on that page, this means the most recent semester has ended and the upcoming semester has not yet been announced. Your patience will be rewarded.

Individual Classes

Online: You can purchase admission to individual classes for £10 for Online live broadcast (which comes with a 7 day viewing window).

London: Our in-person classes take place at the Horse Hospital in London, and are not streamed or recorded. Doors open at 19:00 and the lecture starts promptly at 19:15; we reserve the right to refuse entry, without refund. Tickets are £9 (concessions), £12 (advance), and £15 (door).

Platforms & Procedure

Tickets and passes can be purchased through Miskatonic’s Billetto page. Please note: if there are currently no classes listed, this means that we are in between semesters or that the class schedule has not yet been announced.

All in-person classes will take place in physical locations. All Online live classes are streamed live via Zoom, and then later available to ticket purchasers and Online semester passholders for 72 hours via Vimeo.

Please note that the Online Semester Pass does not include access to Archive classes.

Once you purchase your tickets/passes, the ticketing system will automatically send you a confirmation email that contains instructions regarding location (if in-person) and what to do on the day of the event.

Online classes will receive a Zoom registration link in their confirmation emails. You must click on those links and fill in a brief registration form for each class; doing so will ensure you receive reminders and the information needed to join your class’s Zoom webinar at its designated start time.

Please note that we don’t offer refunds for individual class tickets or semester passes.
